The ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands, unlike typical museums, has a modest permanent collection. Instead, it focuses more on bringing top-notch "touring" exhibitions to the shores of Singapore for a limited time.
I've had the privilege of catching these exhibitions for work or during the Educators' Preview:
- Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition (no photography allowed)
- Mummy: Secrets of the Tomb (no photography allowed)
- Dinosaurs: Dawn to Extinction
- The Art of the Brick
- Essential Eames: A Herman Miller Exhibition
Dinosaurs: Dawn to Extinction
I love how hands-on this exhibition can be for the replicas (which wasn't easy to replicate at all). Real fossils are wisely kept in clear cases. The collaboration between artists and archaeologists also breaks out of the mold of regular exhibitions.
Peter Trusler's masterpieces blurs the line between photos and paintings.
There's a very interesting story behind why the dinosaur in the foreground is painted as such. Visit the exhibition to find out.

A fabulous exhibition, wish I could see it. The work from Peter Trusler is amazing.
ReplyDeleteIt's traveling so I hope you get a chance to visit it! I couldn't tell if it was a photograph or painting even up close. It was THAT good.
ReplyDeleteThis exhibition is really great! I visited the Art Science Museum in March this year and completely amazed by all artefacts showing there <3
ReplyDeleteYes because ArtScience Museum hosts touring exhibits, it is worth many revisits! I enjoy it too!
