I had been to Jiufen once before, in fact the memory remains fresh in my head - struggling up and down the narrow cobbled streets searching for our minsu (民宿 or home stay) with our luggage no less because I kept missing the entrance somehow! I will never forget how rainy it can be here in Jiufen because I got thoroughly drenched, nor can I forget how comforting it is to tuck into warm taro balls while taking in a panoramic view of the town in our torn disposable raincoats. It's simply an unforgettable (cold, and rainy) town.
No doubt it is worth a second (or more) visit, and with each visit, come new sights and experiences. For one, it wasn't raining when we visited this time round so some pictures are not so blurry or gloomy, and we caught the sunset and some animal residents!
However, some things ought not to change (I'm nostalgic by nature), like the food!
I didn't see this temple previously.

We got greedy and had two types of mushrooms.
With that, our adventures along the Pingxi Line has also come to an end having visited a grand total of *drum roll please* 5 towns: Houtong Station > Jingtong Station > Pingxi Station > Shifen > Ruifang Station (Jiufen). I'm impressed. We even managed to head over to Shilin for even more food.
