Nara, Japan: Oh Deer me, I don't want to say Sayo-NARA!

I wouldn't miss Nara for my DEER life! You're probably used to that occasional, sometimes shy, sometimes attention-seeking, food-snffing squirrel, rabbit or cat in your neighbourhood, but how about some deers? (Make that very many, very often)

I'm excited to share a Lea Pof-updated list of UNESCO sites in Nara City:

LEAPOF 001 Nara DEAR DEERS

Comes in one shape (deer) and all sizes
Responds well to deer biscuits
Everywhere in Nara                                               011

Here's the run-down about Nara before I launch into photographic-diarrhea of all things deer:
Nara was the capital of Japan from 710 to 784. During this period the framework of national government was consolidated and Nara enjoyed great prosperity, emerging as the fountainhead of Japanese culture. The city's historic monuments – Buddhist temples, Shinto shrines and the excavated remains of the great Imperial Palace – provide a vivid picture of life in the Japanese capital in the 8th century, a period of profound political and cultural change.

Oh Deer me, I don't want to say Sayo-NARA!

*Psst* Hey there, yes you!

Nara

Nara

We've been waiting,

Nara
And watching.

Nara

We're the three wise deers.

Nara

Put on your disguise to blend in with us

NaraNara

Then follow us on a quest for... BISCUITS!

Nara

It doesn't matter how big

Nara

or how small you are.

Nara

There's no time to laze,

Nara

no time to deer-watch,

Nara

no time to stop,

Nara

and no time to lock horns.

Nara

Let us show you how it's done.

NaraNara

First you sniff for 'em biscuits,

Nara

Before you go for it!

Nara

There's no need to queue,

Nara

Unless it comes to ice cream!

Nara

And should people ask,'Why did the deer cross the road?'

Nara

You'd answer, 'Why, for food, of course!'

Nara

Do you have some?

Nara

Does she have some?!

Nara

And that's how it's done!

With that, my Deer, it's time to say

Sayo-NARA.

Nara

Till next time, folks

.Nara

A post on Nara sans deers is in the works.
