Cingjing is a typical "好山,好水,好地方" - the mountains are good, the water is good, making it a good place. I would add that the air and the weather is good too (considering that we were in Taiwan at a time when the haze was exceptionally bad back home and N95 masks in demand), and so are the animals here.
We took a bus from the Taipei Main Station. The ride takes about 4h so it is important to be well-prepared for the drive by popping by a convenience store:
It makes for a rather scenic drive too:
Before long, you will meet 1 or 2 minsu (homestays) though we stayed at Villa Relax:
After we dropped off our luggage, we went to wander around the area, including the visitors' centre:
Yes, 7-11 is everywhere
And the weather in Cingjing is like this from cold to very cold

The timing for the shows:
Sheep Show
Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays 0930 and 1430 at the Green Green Grasslands
Horse Show
Daily 1045 and 1545 at the Mountain View Pastures
The shuttle bus
Saturdays, Sundays 0800 - 1600, excluding 1200-1300
*no mention of the frequency of the buses
The timing is subject to change, but I think we planned to go on a weekend when both shows are on, catch the Sheep Show then take a stroll over to the Horse Show like we did!
The timing for the buses out of Cingjing
There are many animals around Cingjing (apart from the sheep and the horses):
The resident cat
On the way back from the Horse Show, we found a fruit stall and a litter!
At a shop, another resident kitty and some dogs:
There's no lack of things to see, do and eat here!
